TGU — Participating more actively

5:40 a.m. We need to continue, though I have felt better. I notice I usually feel better as we go along. Your move.

The present center of interest is how you live your lives, and for what purpose. If you can’t get a useful perspective on that, the rest is just spinning theory.

Thoreau’s “Where I lived, and What I Lived For.”

Both halves, yes. Ignore the former part, and you have only theory. Ignore the latter and you have only anecdotes. Nobody needed GPS to tell the lives of the saints, but neither could they make any sense of those lives – by definition they couldn’t – apart from the circumstances of their 3D existence. So you may say that here we are attempting to give you latitude as well as longitude, warp as well as weft, 3D as well as non-3D, so that you would have enough of a complete pattern to be useful. You aren’t getting “the” complete picture only because neither you nor we are capable of comprehending it; but, completer. More useful. Omitting fewer vitally important subjects.

But maps, while interesting in themselves to a certain kind of mind and temperament, are meant less for admiration of their aesthetic qualities than for their more or less passive assistance in somebody’s journeys. Let’s be a little more active, at this point.

The map is more like a GPS, talking to us?

More like Data in Star Trek, conversing, not merely responding.

Isn’t that what we have been doing, all this while?

To a degree, yes. But it is time to move beyond what we have done to this point.

Well, I’m open to suggestion.

That, in fact, is what we have in mind. Anyone who reads this, quite apart from the irrelevant fact of when they read it, will benefit from reading it in that way, as well as reading what we actually said.

We may have to unpack that. I get that (a) direct mind-to-mind between you and us is not 3D-time-constrained. Two non-3D minds are in contact whenever (within a 3D-time context) they connect, and (b) how we read the material will determine how active we are in the process. Read it for its literal meaning and we get a certain amount. Read it and allow it to suggest, and we get more.

More, and maybe different, or at least contradictory of the literal meaning, if only in appearance. It involves putting greater trust in yourselves and less trust in the disembodied voice from Olympus, or from the voice belonging to the statue on the pedestal.

I see it conceptually. So what do we do differently?

It isn’t a skill involved, so much as an attitude, an approach. It involves closer perusal – you can’t do this by merely scanning the material and then following your fancy – and at the same time, deeper assaying, feeling for what thoughts, opinions, feelings, memories, half-ideas surface as you do so, and either following them or deciding not to follow them, but taking them seriously. Is the idea clear?

It is to me. And it’s “slow down” all over again, isn’t it?

It is the old railroad sign: “Stop, look, and listen.”

That’s a very good way to think about it.

Now, this entry is a good example of what we’re talking about, because it can easily be read either casually and quickly, and dismissed with a brisk, “That’s obvious,” or “That’s nothing new,” or even “That’s a good idea,” – or it can be pondered, sat with, examined at leisure.

It isn’t as easy to get the idea across as one might think. On the one hand, pay closer attention; on the other hand, pay closer attention to what it stirs up in you, and trust that with at least as much reverence as you give anything else in your life.

It would be to nobody’s advantage to give you one more source or one more body of knowledge to put upon a pedestal. It would be not only to your advantage, but to everybody’s, to give you at the same time new information, new clues to your situation, and more confidence in yourselves as navigators.

Yes, I heard the analogy come up as I was writing. Your data as to our positon and speed and any possible landfalls and reefs are not meant to be of academic interest, but to assist us to navigate; only, we must do the navigating.

Must do the navigating, must bend the sails, must decide (to some extent) which port to make for. No publisher of navigational charts can be responsible for people’s skill in sailing. That’s up to them. The best the publisher or the chart can do is see to the accuracy of the material that is designed to give the sailor as much useful information as possible.

All right, I think that’s clear.

So, to make it a little more specific, as we said, we are tying together two points of view – your lives as they affect your growth, put it that way, and your lives as part of something far greater than yourselves.

Hmm. Our lives as biography and our lives as part of society.

Is it not true that a “Life and Times of…” biography takes a broader view of the subject than one that sticks closely to the personal and somewhat ignores or takes for granted the context of the person’s life?

And it can go either way, I see that. Today a biography tends to include what the person customarily had for breakfast. Adomnan, on the other hand, took for granted that any possible reader would know enough about Columba’s external facts (to the extent that anybody cared about them) and set forth the outer evidence of Columba’s inner life, as his qualities spilled out into the world, so to speak. Two extremes, centering on 3D data or on non-3D meaning as it appeared in 3D data.

And there’s nothing wrong with going to extremes, though one may find it difficult to remain there, but it is better if you can touch both extremes at once.

[I can’t remember now how what follows was suggested by the sentence on extremes, but it was and seemed a logical extension at the moment.]

I don’t see you giving us tips on the stock market, or the winning lottery number, or the winner of the third race at Hialeah.

No, you don’t see it. Does that mean it doesn’t happen? Where do hunches come from?

Where do mistaken hunches come from?

That’s easily answered: from wishful thinking. But what of true hunches?

Since I know that you already know that I know that they come from our non-3D mind, I presume the point here is that you are perfectly willing to give us that kind of information as well. And Joe Gallenberger’s course comes to mind as I write that: ESP as source of gambling winnings.

It’s a matter of what is important to you, and here again the question is —

Which you. I got that.

Of course. For you to become aware of a hunch, and for you to act upon it (two steps, not one), there must be agreement between conscious and unconscious mind, or call it 3D and non-3D mind, or one will sabotage the other. A conscious mind that arrogantly denies the possibility of valid psychic input will disregard the hunch as self-evidently (that is, really, by its definition) impossible to be anything more than fantasy. An unconscious mind that for good reasons or bad does not want the 3D life to win that lottery or call the number will arrange circumstances that result in the number not being played. The two must be in cooperation, and that cooperation obviously cannot be willed by the 3D mind on its own. It must be the product of true cooperation, which will likely be [i.e. will likely take place] beyond 3D awareness.

So there’s an hour, and clearly there isn’t much need to do more than lightly scan the material.

Very funny. Okay, till next time, and thanks.

  1. Though it happens ‘off-stage,’ intent and perseverance would work here, to help align conscious and unconscious?

    1. Sure. This (3D) is all we have to consciously work with, of course. The fact that much of what goes on is behind the scenes merely reminds us that life is bigger than we are.

  2. Frank,
I’m struck by two (contradictory/complementary?) things here:
    1. The incredible number of times/ways/places the ideas in the first part of this session (up to your comment “All right, I think that’s clear.”) have been repeated. Anyone who has worked and achieved in 3D, (an art, profession, skill, etc.) has at least unconsciously used these concepts; conscious awareness makes life even easier and smoother.
    2. How incredibly meaningful and ‘new-sounding’ this session is to me! It feels like ‘your’ TGU talks to ‘my’ TGU, so while reading the session words I get supporting, concurrent, expanding ‘flow’ on the inner. What a ride!
    Jim

  3. Hi Frank. It seems uncanny that each time I turn to your blog entries there is a big overlap to something my own TGU-types have been pointing out to me. But in another sense, it is, “yes, of course it is that way.” When I become ripe for an understanding or comprehension, it shows up in multiple forms in multiple places. But I want to tell you how deeply grateful I am when that happens. Your generosity in taking the time to type these up and post them is greatly appreciated. Thank you, thank you.

  4. Very interesting and very much synchronistic with my own thinking/intuiting. Finding the path to the view where truth and self-serving comfort can be told apart. Really few are interested in this journey. I’ve been reading HHhH- by Binet. It is (mostly) about Heydrich but the politics of the times just force me to think how close the own comfort and making everything serve that still is. The west destroying all functioning arab countries, for example. There is a crowd of Chamberlain imitators making themselves comfortable while countries are being torn into pieces. The unconscious has all sorts of stuff in there. Finding the cooperation is quite a task. The 3D mind needs to hold together and the larger part has to somehow find a way to come into the 3D focus. It very much resembles learning to communicate with a horse to me. Both human&horse, 3D and fullD have those places that are no good. And you need to keep going back to negotiating even when the berserk parts of each have been touched off. Turning away and hiding, pretending the other, the challenge, does not exist will lead to inner stagnation where all that is gained rots away. Facing the reality of all hurt and pain and meeting in the tenderness of that truth, following the living balance. Maybe even starting to discern a unique goal growing out of the truth. That has been the hard task to me: taking in the truth of my feebleness and still keep moving. Imagined abilities and falling into fear are the stock answers of my own 3D mind to anything outside its little field of knowing.

  5. So if the things that trouble us on this side are the symptoms of something on that side, the solution cannot come by fixing this side. Cooperation is necessary

  6. “3D and non-3D mind … must be in cooperation, and that cooperation … must be the product of true cooperation.”

That paragraph got my attention (and others’ it seems), so I ‘asked’ guidance; the (not very satisfying) responses ‘danced’ around:
    – “we’re ready anytime you are (to cooperate).”
    – “we’re no better at it than you; we (you and us) will be growing into that cooperation together.”
    – there’s nothing special (for us 3D’ers) to do … just LISTEN, in whatever way works.
    – cooperation (at least for my ‘guidance’) is meaningful only around living life (dealing with daily life here in 3D), not around words, concepts, wishing, etc.

It finally got through (to ‘us’?) that the (seeming) difficulty is in our understandably different worldviews: I focus on tiers one and two of experience, which mean little to them. They focus on tier three, on what those experiences are forming me into. Felt this ‘discussion’ was summed up in: we ARE cooperating, every day, every moment … keep living and listening and all will be well. (HAD to grin at that last!)
    Jim

    1. This has definitely become a more active participation! Very useful points, thank you! True cooperation looks like an important checkpoint. And “what those experiences are forming me into” – in certain tight spots that can be a perspective that gives ease to a situation that has none otherwise. Is there maybe even a sort of learning process here so that the layers learn to do the guidance without breaking things/us? The veto from the survival department is quite an obstacle – it produces withdrawal into a very primitive level of functioning. No cooperation possible there. And from neurological perspective that is a routine you do not want to strengthen. Fear makes you measurably more stupid. And of course there is appropriate fear – nothing wrong with running for your life when meeting a bear. But that mode of functioning does not make good workplaces or relationships. But all is well, or in the words of my language learning app, you are learning even when you are failing.

      1. Kristiina ? Beautiful expressing of your thoughts(Franks` too of course).
And when coming to the importance of cooperation is it always there(unavoidable).
        BTW:
A couple of days ago received another interresting book from Amazon U.K. “The Life and Teachings of Russel Williams, titled: “Not I, Not other than I,” edited by Steve Taylor.
Frank`s dear friend Charles Sides to have the same book too. But I am to read the one chapter with the heading: THE OBSERVING SELF. IN the book much about the Buddhist` thoughts along the way and about how the cooperative works, and quote:
“I can prove that we don`t have to hide from one another(to hide is impossible anyway). I will guarantee that before this night is out, you`ll feel a rapport in this room with everybody in it.
You`ll feel part and parcel of the whole, not separate, that you belong with this group. We`re all emanating a sense of well-being, percolating through from each of us. There is nothing to fear.
We can be ourselves, and being ourselves means to extend our love out to others, as they do to us. This is what love is. This nurturing is love. And that nurturing flows out and criss-crosses and merges until you don`t know who is who.” (bookpage 126).

        Nowadays I`m “observing myself.”
BTW: As for the meeting of a Bear — Rule no. 2 : Don`t run away when meeting a Bear – the Bear is faster than yourself(and not to try climbing a tree because the bear climbing the trees). What to do then? Then first Rule no 1: Developing the sixth and the seventh sense to avoid the meeting with a Bear.
        P.S.
As for the difference between Europeans and the Americans:
No guns or rifles allowed for the population(s) in the Nordic countries, except for a few seasonal Hunters strictly guarded.
But I cannot know about the Criminals of course…if not developing the warnings by the 6th & 7th sense that is.

        LOL, Inger Lise,
greetings from your friendly neighbour (do not know about our common other neigbour, and a much larger neighbour of course, the BIG Russian BEAR though). According to Edgar Cayce, and several others: LOVE your enemy(there`s none).

        1. In re, “I will guarantee that before this night is out, you`ll feel a rapport in this room with everybody in it.” This is a phenomenon TMI participants experience; it’s very nice!

  7. Phew! The last 2 posts took me awhile to process: I find it typically necessary to read your TGU postings once, then again, then a third time, after which I journal whatever comes bubbling up. I get the distinct impression that, if I had read these 2 years, or even 2 months ago, I would have come away with completely different impacts than I have come away with this past weekend. Interesting, that. It would seem that my lessons/awareness build/(s) upon all that came before, and in the exact order necessary for my forward movement.

I smiled to see a reference to character LCDR Data! My favorite character on Star Trek, which I have been watching a lot of lately. : )

    I am also smiling about
“Read it for its literal meaning and we get a certain amount. Read it and allow it to suggest, and we get more.”
    and
“….you will need to be particularly certain that you are following resonances with the truth rather than resonances with what is most comfortable to believe because it best matches where you are already.”

Much contemplation resulted from reading this and opening to whatever “came up”. What “came up” this weekend, bit by bit, was an uncovering of the realization that who I generally thought of as “me”, was actually a survival construct of necessity from childhood (I will spare you the details)…..was no longer necessary, was wholly redundant, and actually, consistantly detrimental to my whole-state well-being, over a lifetime lived, to date. When I moved it aside, Lo! There was an “original me” buried under the construct, kept carefully hidden away by the self-perpetuating construct. Wow. I never knew how much “following what was familiar” actually drove my entire life and kept knowledge of true self, suppressed.

The future suddenly looks very bright indeed! A game-changer. I am seeing that I am actually not a polar opposite of that construct, but definitely far from it. My perspective, though, did a 180.

I just never know WHAT will come bubbling up when I read this blog…I’m learning a very great deal, thanks to you taking your time and energy to do this. Thank you for helping me evolve.

    1. So beautiful! Thank you for telling! And I say this as someone who has been struggling with that survival construct/conditioned self a lot. Learning to see through, and work through it has felt very much like you describe.

  8. I think the material has led to some pretty profound understandings and many of us trusting ourselves more and acting on it. For example, introducing more truth and transparency into my dealings with family has unexpectedly led to them doing the same and some changes occurring that none of us would have thought possible. We’ve all experienced some evolution! I did so at the urging of my TGUs, as a result of my asking for guidance and having the intention to act on it. That’s cooperation/participating more actively to me. I think that’s what LisaC and Jim are taking from the material, too. It’s the doing, which then seems to speed things up for all concerned. It has been pretty amazing to me. (Thanking you, Frank, is part of participating more actively!)
