Finished the first draft of Dark Fire last night. It comes to 166,000 words at the moment, with another chapter to be added on rewrite. But rewrite should slim it down considerably even after the additional chapter. It has been a long satisfying six-month effort, after so many years of unfinished attempts.
Congratulations! It’s a kind of bittersweet feeling, right? What an accomplishment.
It would be a lot more so if I thought that finishing a first draft meant it was all over!
Wow,
I can’t wait to read it! Is it historical fiction, sci Fi metaphysical or what?
Colleen A.
It’s a follow-up of Babe in that it partly describes a CTMI program, and is about CTMI individuals. But it’s also about conspiracies, and the world we live in (even though it is set in 1996). Fairly intricate, actually.
Congratulations!
Can you give us a “non-spoiler” synopsis? (The title reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence”. I had a class in High School where I wrote new lyrics to that tune and called the result “Light of Darkness”)
Congratulations Frank! Great progress, I’m so looking forward to reading it down the road.
