The Yugas and the times

7:15 a.m. Feeling lazy today. Maybe no session.

8:30 a.m. I suppose I should begin, or I will regret having missed the chance. I know they have nothing against my taking a day off, but I do. So maybe let’s address Ramona Thiessen’s question.

“From the Eastern perspective time is distributed into 4 ages – the yugas. Kali yuga is described as an age of decadence, a process of dissolution due to the accumulations, crystallizations and abuses that occurred in the previous three ages. It is said to be a time of conflict and strife ensue, lies and deceit become common fare. Those thought good are now evil and vice versa. No sense of God or spirituality – fake saints and gurus. Lust, ignorance, animosity, murder without reason. Wonder if TGU might comment on any correlation (or contrast) with this view, specifically Kali Yuga’s description with their framing of elements of life, unfinished business of the shared subjectivity and nature of energies that ‘the times’ will allow in?  Is that similar to the Eastern view of the various cycles?”

What say you, gentlemen?

You know that it is a rule of thumb we recommend, that nothing that has been believed by serious people over long periods of time may be safely disregarded. That isn’t to say that conditions may not have changed, but there was something in the idea – whatever idea we’re talking about – and it is for you to discover how far if at all it affects your own life.

You have said that truths change, too; that something that was true at one time may no longer be true in another.

And may return to being true, later yet, yes. But this would bring us far afield from the question at hand. Let’s look at that, and defer the question of changing truths to another time.

Fine by me. I’m ready.

The 3D world has many enigmas in stone that would make sense to you if you realized why they were constructed. Similarly, belief systems, mythologies, inculcated ways of being. They are all rooted in an understanding that, as you might say, “Things are going downhill.”

I have had the thought I feel you intending to give us.

Of course. You all live your lives receiving premonitions, inexplicable knowings – transmissions from beyond this 3D time/space as well as transmissions from non-3D. You may or may not know how to interpret them, usually won’t know what if anything to do with them, but still the knowledge leaks through, however little context comes with it.

I take it you mean contact along our threads to other lives in other time/spaces, and contact to other parts of reality via our non-3D component and its connections.

The same thing said twice, in a way. But no harm in putting it that way.

So what is it I intuited?

You prefer us to tell it. All right.

  • The times do change quality according to their own unvarying laws.
  • These changes follow their own logic.
  • People who were in intimate, unbroken communication with the greater reality of which 3D is, in effect, a dreaming subset, learned these rhythms.
  • Lawgivers diffused the knowledge in forms most easily grasped by people at various stages of development. Rough analogy: symphonies, paintings, stories told, stories written, plays enacted. A deaf man cannot hear a symphony, nor a blind one see a painting, nor one without understanding profit from stories, etc., etc. But people can benefit from things expressed in ways they are not blind to, or deaf to, or that are not beyond their understanding.
  • Civilizations embodied their understandings; they lived This is what the creation and diffusion of culture is all about. It is not about ignorant people learning to see what everybody knows; it is more like people learning to sing in harmony.
  • Some civilizations have a short half-life, others don’t. A very few – China, Egypt, parts of India – are so extremely long-lived (at the price of a certain rigidity) as to wish to resist the coming restrictions.

I know that you mean, by “the coming restrictions,” the harder times that are coming, the more restrictive yugas.

The basic idea is correct and cannot be altered by human action. Can you change what energies are allowed in? It would be like someone thinking he could regulate sun spots, or solar flares. If the ages are rolling on (and they always are), and if they are steadily going downhill, so to speak (and they always are, except for the one moment of rejuvenation at the end of the age of iron), all you can do is adapt. If you are especially ambitious, you can try to help those who will come after you.

Knowing that those followers will not be as connected as you are.

Some may be. Fewer each generation. But yes, in general, each generation will be losing ground. Does this put a different light on ancient civilizations that were strictly hierarchical?

It does, although our bias does not run that way. Clearly if only a few are awake, they should be the ones shaping the culture. If you’re riding the rapids, you don’t want a blind helmsman.

Now, remembering our previous statements here, think of the pyramids all over the world – great artificial mountains of stone – and think of prophetic sites (oracles) and think of religious rituals and traditions that will appear quite superstitious if you look at them with Western eyes: I Ching, Tarot, etc. They are all based on an older, deeper understanding of the interconnection of all things and all times.

I’m refocusing, because I got the sense that we’re not quite to where you want to go.

Well, there are several things. They don’t quite connect with each other, but they connect with the question.

  • Changing times may or may not be to your liking, but light and dark depend upon each other. A year is not all Spring and no Fall, nor all Winter and no Summer. The universe knows what it is doing.
  • Dark times present their own unique opportunities, no less than light times. Opportunity has nothing to do with preference. It is there for you to grasp or miss.
  • There was a descent, through all these ages. First everyone, then progressively fewer until only a few, were in connection with the gods, so to speak. So everyday perception became the province of initiates, and then of only the outstandingly gifted. But the age comes to an end, and once again the energies are allowing greater numbers to share the experience.

Another way to say that might be to say that the times are lowering the bar, that it is easier to do this kind of thing, even if the age continues to slide.

Yin is always contained in the heart of Yang, and vice-versa. The seeds of the new sprout within the dying carcass of the old.

So to return specifically to Ramona’s question?

When have we left it? We have been answering it right along. Her understanding is correct; we were merely elucidating.

Okay.

Remember – this said not so much to one as to all who may read this – you were born into the age you were born into for a reason. It wasn’t an accident. It is important for you; it is important for everyone around you. If you will come to see every day as un unrepeatable, invaluable opportunity – as it is – you will move closer to the state of mind you wish to achieve. Kicking against the pricks is a waste of time and energy. Look instead to find the opportunities that could not be experienced elsewhere, elsewhen.

Even the concentration camps were opportunities, in other words.

Yes, but you need to see the 3D world and your present life as part of the whole if you wish to make sense of it. Suffering is useful, if endured correctly. Viktor Frankl exemplified that, but so did millions of others, most of them unknown to history. Useful to oneself, useful to their society, in that you absorb (and hopefully transform) a part of the dark energies of the times.

We’re running out of time, but that sounds like a topic we could address profitably.

Did you think that evil and suffering enter the 3D world only because some people are “bad” and do bad things? It acts through people, not from them.

I think you mean, there are reasons people do cruel things, reasons sometimes below the level of consciousness or even will. Even in the brightest times, there will be dark, and dark will express. It is in the nature of the whole thing that all elements express.

I suppose today’s theme should be, “Kali Yuga.”

Perhaps, “The Yugas and the times,” but you will decide.

Our thanks for all this, as always.

  1. Frank,
Guidance (to me) is not agreeing with “Things are going downhill.” We gather ‘downhill’ is expressed by “First everyone, then progressively fewer until only a few, were in connection with the gods.”

The Frank/TGU mind has repeatedly, quietly, and calmly said that (around the end of this century) the chaos and change will calm down into a new civilization of (relative?) stability and closer connection between 3D and non-3D. Is this the meaning of “But the age comes to an end, and once again the energies are allowing greater numbers to share the experience.”?

    Guidance whole-heartedly agrees with
“ The times do change quality according to their own unvarying laws … follow[ing] their own logic.” Each of us can work to be “in intimate, unbroken communication with the greater reality, learn[ing] these rhythms.”

Once again I hear/feel “The wise horse runs at the shadow of the whip …”, and appreciate you, TGU, and guidance helping me grow into that wisdom.

    1. Jim, I think there is less contradiction here than meets the eye. Society per se is indeed continuing to go downhill; you need only look around to see that. But, like the Yin symbol that contains the nub of Yang within it, these degenerate times contain the beginnings of a revolutionary change, that is (as you allude to), a greater and wider sense of connection with the non-3D – with the gods, in effect. You and i won’t live to see the flowering of the next age, but we are in the very earliest beginnings of it, I think.

      1. Thanks Frank, I see the apparent contradiction revolves around ‘Which thing?’ … something like the confusion and contradictions that can swirl around ‘Which you?’

Guidance (the ‘group’ that ‘talks’ to me) shows little or no interest in the woes and tensions of societies, cultures, or the (present) world population. They seem totally focused on what we are becoming … something like how we might not pay attention to the life and travails of the Monarch caterpillar, ‘seeing’ only the beauty and magnificence of the butterfly it is becoming.

Guidance (like TGU) is deeply concerned with the life/growth/progress of (interested) individuals (like those of us here) and strongly echo TGU’s line “ … come to see every day as an unrepeatable, invaluable opportunity [to] move closer to the state of mind you wish to achieve.”
