An internal dialogue by John Dorsey Wolf on applying knowledge

On Applying Knowledge

Other Parts of Me (OPM): “Apply, apply, apply what you know.”

Me: Well, that’s always a challenge, because I’ve learned I can’t influence others.

OPM: ”Yes you can, if they want to be influenced. You can’t change their filter. But you can relate to those whose filter is similar.”

Further input from the Group Mind (GM): The mechanism is to apply the knowledge to yourself, to your thoughts from which you form your opinion, to the intentions which are the basis for your interaction with others, to your judgement about what’s going on around you.

Do not limit your thinking on application to “doing”, as if you have to go accomplish something, or for that matter even send that knowledge on in some manner. Let it change your pattern of thought, let it change your thought foundations and assumptions, let it change you. For as it changes you, it changes us as well, and ripples through everything. Application doesn’t mean you must become a source or conveyer of knowledge to others as much as your being will naturally affect others even in ways that you don’t sense. Let the knowledge work on you and the rest will happen naturally.

Me: You are encouraging me to internalize it (the knowledge)?

OPM: ”Of course. You use the expression “taking it to heart” to mean internalization. That’s a very interesting expression don’t you think, your heart being such a strong link to the rest of you?”

GM: (With this came an image of very strong energy flow to and from the heart and the love and support that comes with it. The image implied a broad multidimensional connection. Other connections from non 3-D to the rest of my body were there but peripheral.)

OPM: ”So when you take it in and roll it around as Carl Jung says, it comes home to us as well. We can take it in more completely, and we can appreciate the perception that we’ve designated for you to have. So take it in.”

GM: As you think about the information, as you work to digest it, it automatically flows to your non-3D self which is not separate from you. The perspective brought through that process can be integrated on a larger scale and the greater self can appreciate (there is a larger meaning here that I’m struggling for words to describe, similar to the combination of internalization, accumulation and absorbing for the purpose of changing) the perception that it has designed for you to have for it’s purposes. It is knowledge/experience brought in through an instrument designed to be “perfect” for doing just that. Hundreds or thousands of other “instruments” bring in other experience. If you want to view stars you need a telescope and if you want to study petri dishes you need a microscope, and they can’t be interchanged for each other’s job. Take in as much as you can.

Experience changes you, and it enables you to have further experiences built on the previous ones. So it is with life experiences and the continuous braiding which enables further specific, complex experiences to be lived and concomitant changes made to greater consciousness.

OPM: Internalizing it actually externalizes it more than what you would call externalizing it. Our network is bigger than yours! (laughing).”

GM: While you may envision internalization physically as removing it from view, in reality it is opening it up for broadcast to the vast internal network of all consciousness. Even though it is mostly invisible to you in 3D, it dwarfs any Earth human-to-human connection even with the Internet. This does not mean to discourage Earth networking which has it’s value as well, but gives you some idea of the magnitude of the distribution of your perception.

OPM: ”Writing helps you internalize what you are perceiving. It registers with you, and describes the way it is registering. We note both the material and the registration so to speak.”

GM: The over-thinking and the search for the right words that occurs when writing out a thought is itself part of the internalization process. We are monitoring not only the perception as it comes through but the process of internalization. (The input from your fellow TMI explorer on getting as much of the whole multidimensional information as possible was not accidental.)

OPM: ”Let’s talk about the value of sharing. You have the gist of sharing in our world. It happens instantaneously and we don’t have to think about where it goes or how it gets interpreted. You have the ego in the way…not really a bad guy at all, but the guy that is sensitive to experiences in your time sequential world that we are not as sensitive to. That doesn’t make it bad. Just realize what it’s good for and what it isn’t good at.”

GM: One of the blockages to greater free flow of thought among humans is the ego. It’s sensitivity to how it is going to be perceived by another, and it’s need for recognition, and to be valued can distort transmission and reception. Sometimes the ego is represented as a roadblock to spiritual development, but that is an overstatement. There’s a lot more that can be discussed about the ego, but that would be a sidetrack. Suffice it to say it would be beneficial to become more aware of what it’s role is and isn’t.

OPM: ”Back to sharing. Sharing there (in 3D) helps people feel less alone in their struggles to understand. It encourages. It supports. And it helps the person sharing to get used to the idea that their thoughts will become known to all—actually, are already known to all—so you might as well get over the shyness!”

GM: (A zinger there for me. I am forever thinking my thoughts are mine, and unless I decide to share them, nobody will ever know what they are. I understood that there was greater transparency in non-3D, but it didn’t dawn on me that it went to this level.) Our thoughts are already known to all, including other humans in 3D, even though I don’t realize it and neither do they. The lack of awareness is for a reason: overload. The reason is not to “protect” us or anyone else from our “bad” thoughts, or to inhibit this effect until we learn to only think “good” thoughts!

OPM: ”And the other feelings, good and bad about sharing…once the floodgates are open they are open.”

GM: Further to your concerns about, “OMG whatever is coming into my mind is getting broadcast!” and “All that “stuff” that people are thinking about me is going to be public also!”, a reminder that this is the ego at work. Transparency is there, but the ego is local, and not functioning outside of 3D in a way to get all worked up over it’s concepts of consequences and sensitivities.

Me: “What about the thoughts that we would all be embarrassed about?”

OPM: ”Not a very simple subject actually. Your “embarrasment” comes from your judgements about correct/incorrect, about OK, not OK. The compass is there and it works all the time, especially inside. But that’s human judgement and it’s necessary for living a human life. You will not suffer in the spirit world for having thought some other human is especially sexy or especially offensive in some manner.” (There was humor there)

GM: Developing your own internal belief system about duality is part of being human; in fact, necessary to be human, but doesn’t carry over explicitly to non-3D. (I get the impression that this is another substantial subject that is best addressed separately.)
