Hello Folks,

Please join me for a conversation with repeat guest Frank DeMarco, author of “Afterlife Conversations with Hemingway: A Dialogue on His Life, His Work, and the Myth.”  Here’s information on Frank DeMarco and “Afterlife Conversations with Hemingway”:

“Frank DeMarco is the author of six books, including the non-fiction Muddy Tracks and The Sphere and the Hologram, and the novel Babe in the Woods. A former journalist and newspaper editorial writer, Frank was co-founder and chief editor of Hampton Roads Publishing Company, the powerhouse regional responsible for such best-sellers as Neale Donald Walsch’s Conversations with God series. His published work, centering on personal experience, follows an ancient formula, “I of my own knowledge tell you that this is the truth,” and attempts to help others to understand the purpose and potential of their existence. He conducts workshops on communicating with guidance and writes a monthly column for The Meta Arts, an online magazine. His past and current thinking may be found on his blog, I of My Own Knowledge…, on “Everyday explorations into our Extraordinary Potential.”

“His new book is a fascinating ongoing conversation with Ernest Hemingway, Frank has presented the reader with a collection of conversations with Hemingway which offers insight into Ernest Hemingway in a way that no other biography has or even could. With Frank as an intermediary, Hemingway tells us about his own writing, his relationships with his family and friends including F. Scott Fitzgerald, religion and his own Catholicism, suffering and illness, and so much more. Frank presents the conversations just has he had them, not trying to reorder them by topic or into a timeline, and as a result the conversations read naturally and in an easy to understand way.

“This book proceeds along three tracks. The first is the correction of The Hemingway Myth. To correct the myth, it is necessary to understand: This is a matter less of new information than of new interpretation. And who better to provide it than Hemingway himself? A second strand shows how communication with the non-physical proceeds, showing what can be done, and how easily, so as to encourage people to try it. Of course explaining the process also involves discussing difficulties and pitfalls.

“The third strand, the most important, which depends upon the other two, provides a new model of the physical/non-physical interaction, demonstrating the true function of physical existence. By implication it shows that the afterlife is not only not a fantasy, but is a necessary part of life, without which life wouldn’t have meaning or make any sense. And it does so in a way that shows that religious belief was tapping into the same reality. Here is a fascinating insight into how the universe really works.”  (source:  press releases sent to this author).

I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation on the “EUP” radio program ! You can let a family member, friend or colleague know that this program will also be available free of of charge on our archive and podcast site usually by the next day (Sunday) at 12 noon Central Time.

  1. Hi Frank!

I’m sitting here listening to the interview with you. I love hearing you talk – and was thrilled to hear you mention this retired English teacher in Denmark that was wondering about “Indian Camp”. Boy, could I have also used your expertise before I retired 🙂

You did great explaining to people how everybody can sit down and communicate as you do, writing the conversation down or taping it. Many years ago I would do the same thing on my computer. If I wasn’t such a lazy person I would still be doing it. Perhaps I’ll give it another shot some day.

Well, I’d better get back to the interview. Cats and dog and husband are expecting supper at this 6 pm in Denmark, but I’ve got more important things to do 🙂

thanks for doing what you do!

Your friend Christel – and Elon says hi, too 🙂

    1. You know, I got a great deal out of that question about “Indian Camp,” and if you hadn’t mentioned it i might not have thought to ask about it. I’m not wanting to make trouble for you (or delay Elon’s supper, either) but maybe it would be worthwhile for you to go back over those sessions you did, to see if they might be of wider interest today. The internet makes it easy to share things, as long as we don’t worry about getting paid for it, and people seem more open to these things than at any time i can remember.

Someday i may visit Europe again, though it’s not on the foreseeable schedule, and if I do I will make a point to see you and Elon, and see Inga in Norway, and give you Scandinavians a chance to civilize me.

My best to both you and Elon, and don’t forget the River of Life and Health meditation.

      1. About my own attempts at freeflow writing at the computer: I wish I could find the material and I hope I saved it on the 1.4 Mb discs and not the very old big floppy ones. It’s that long ago. I was communicating with somebody I called Didi or DD, which amused me to think of many years later, when Elon and I created a company called Danish Doorways, thus getting those initials into my life again.

You’ll be very welcome over here, so don’t hesitate to plan a visit.

About the River of Life and Health meditation, I found your book draft on my computer this morning and sent it to Elon, too. I hope he will make it a habit to follow your instructions. He’s very good at healing others, but that’s no guarantee of personal health, I’m afraid.

Did you ever publish that little book?

        1. No, haven’t published it and probably shouldn’t, because i have learned so much more about healing in the intervening years! I did send it to Red Wheel/Weiser (who bought my old company) a few weeks ago, to see if they would be interested in publishing it. So, who knows? Who ever knows what’s going to happen? Be well.
